Go Sell Akara?" – DJ Switch Fires Back After Remi Tinubu's Advice to Struggling Nigerians Sparks Online Drama

Na Nigeria we dey, and every new day comes with a fresh episode of "Wetin Dey Happen?" 😂

Social media has been buzzing after Nigeria's First Lady, Senator Remi Tinubu, advised struggling Nigerians to consider starting small businesses like selling akara, roasted corn, and kuli-kuli to earn a living.

According to the First Lady, not every business needs millions of naira to start. She explained that with a little support and determination, people can make money from simple businesses. She also said her Renewed Hope Initiative provides grants—not loans—to help people start or grow their businesses.

But trust Nigerians, the internet no fit keep quiet.

Popular DJ and activist, DJ Switch, didn't hold back as she blasted the advice, saying it doesn't reflect the harsh economic reality many Nigerians are facing today. According to her, many people are already struggling with high food prices, inflation, and unemployment, and they expect leaders to focus on solving bigger economic problems instead of suggesting everyone should become akara sellers.

Within minutes, social media turned into a virtual market square.

Some people joked that Nigeria might soon have one akara seller for every street, while others argued that there is absolutely nothing wrong with honest hustle. After all, many successful business owners started small before becoming big brands.

Others, however, insisted that entrepreneurship is good, but fixing the economy should remain the government's top priority.

As the debate continues, one thing is certain—Nigerians never disappoint when it comes to turning serious issues into hilarious memes.

So over to you...

If you had ₦50,000 today, would you start an akara business, open a corn stand, sell kuli-kuli, or invest in something else? Drop your answer in the comments. Let's gist! 😂👇
