Tragedy in Ogun: Four Gospel Ministers, Including 'Kekere Jesu', Die in Fatal Auto Crash

Over the weekend, the Christian community in Nigeria was plunged into mourning following the tragic loss of four gospel ministers in a devastating auto crash along the Ikorodu–Sagamu Road in Ogun State.

Among the victims were beloved gospel evangelist Ayodeji David, popularly known as Kekere Jesu, along with fellow ministers Evangelist Iyanu Joseph, Monjolajesu Oluwapamilerin, and Opeyemi Adesina. These ministers, known for their passionate preaching and vibrant music ministries, were reportedly en route to a church program when the accident occurred.

According to reports from the Federal Road Safety Corps (FRSC), the fatal crash involved multiple vehicles and resulted in over 24 fatalities. Preliminary investigations by the FRSC attributed the tragedy to overspeeding and poor visibility, common factors in many road accidents on Nigerian highways.

Eyewitnesses recount that the impact of the collision was severe, leaving little chance for survival. The gospel ministers died on the spot, along with many others. Their sudden departure has left an unfillable void in the hearts of friends, family, and followers u who admired their dedication to spreading the gospel.

Evangelist Ayodeji David, popularly called Kekere Jesu, was especially known for his street evangelism and social media presence, where he reached thousands with messages of hope, salvation, and encouragement. His energetic style of preaching made him a recognizable face across platforms, earning him love and respect across denominations.

Tributes have been pouring in online as fellow ministers, fans, and Christian communities express their grief and share fond memories of the deceased. Many described them as passionate, humble, and tireless in their efforts to win souls for Christ.

This tragedy once again highlights the urgent need for safer driving practices on Nigerian roads. The FRSC has emphasized the dangers of overspeeding, urging all road users to drive responsibly, especially in conditions of low visibility.

As we mourn this heartbreaking loss, may we also reflect on the impact these ministers made in their lifetime. Though their journey was cut short, their voices continue to echo in the hearts of many.

May their souls rest in perfect peace
